In adult quickie, I mention having to force yourself to interpret your the world differently as a means of coping. While one may find themselves naturally miserable, it may not be the correct view to have with respect to their hand. Intuitive or natural is not always correct and will lead to more wrong conclusions if one refuses to update their schemas with experiences. Trying to extrapolate a world in which you have incomplete data is likely a faulty model.
Yesterday, I watched Golden Boy. Kintaro caused me to reflect on a prior thought: I’m here to experience. A small window to see what this ‘life’ thing is about; to be a student of life. How did Newton and Gauss see things? What does it feel like to work in a cultivated corporate environment, navigating social politics and mind work? Sometime, I want to backpack then live among the monks. Of course for a particular activity, a few months can be a wildly different experience than years or more. Extreme dedication is its own experience. In the wise words of Kintaro, exclaiming べんきょう!べんきょう!べんきょう!べんきょうになりました!(study!study!study! [I] have learned!). It helps to stick with this credo.
Alfred Cromwell of city math tutoring reminds me of a predominant thought train throughout childhood that some men are simply not built for some things. I think I’m one to be a solo student of life.
